Hello, the issue I’m facing is that Windows keeps lowering my microphone volume even though I’m speaking at a normal level. I’m not shouting or speaking loudly—sometimes I’m just whispering—and yet Windows still reduces my volume automatically. Because of this, I can’t use my microphone, which I paid hundreds of dollars for, at its full potential. I’ve tried every suggested solution from YouTube, Reddit, and other forums, but nothing has worked. I believe this is caused by a faulty piece of code, and it urgently needs to be fixed. This problem has existed for years—it was present in Windows 10 and unfortunately still persists in Windows 11. We shouldn’t have to endure this frustrating issue any longer.

Hi, I tried the solutions you mentioned. My microphone is an XLR HyperX ProCast, and my audio interface is a Focusrite Scarlett Solo.

First off, beautiful hardware! Secondly, based on what you’ve said you’ve already tried, you’ve probably run through most of what I’d recommend to troubleshoot this. I don’t experience this issue with my Volt 176 but doing some searching I found a thread that it could be Chrome related? Worth a shot

      On Chrome URL

      type “chrome://flags/”

Goto > “Allow WebRTC to adjust the input volume” = DISABLE (set to disable)

Thank you, this is the first time I’ve heard of this solution — I’m trying it now. After testing it for a while, maybe it will really work. The browser I’m using is Brave, and it’s also Chromium-based.
