Is it just Max or the Red Bull is fast here, that 5s penalty doesn’t look that threatening to Max’s race.
The 5s penalty does almost nothing for anyone. It’s way too low a penalty for anything. Regardless of how good your car is. It’s only annoying if you got lucky earlier with a car where you’re actually out of position where your car should be.
Commentary here speculated it was probably 5s because of Piastri being partially responsible for pushing Verstappen off, where Lawson took full blame and got 10s.
Sounds like a weird way to reason though, no? That’s what should be called a race incident if they’re both partially at fault.

We saw an overtake where the car that overtook went maybe a tyre’s width over the white line. I wasn’t even sure they’d went off the track from the camera angle we had. That’s why I’m wondering if it was another incident the next lap maybe
