If you want to put a new character in the James Bond franchise but not makes them James Bond, there’s little to argue against that. I just dont see any upside to leashing yourself to that franchise if you want to make something different. The audience won’t be there. It wasn’t there for Ghostbusters.

It’s like if, say, Unilever bought out a company and then released a statement saying “Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs will stay free of woke mRNA vaccine”
