I must stress this has nothing to do with being boring, what I’m interestedare folks who lulllyou to sleep through the smoothness and flow and safety you feel from their sustained speech independant from their content.
- If you had to pinpoint, what about their voice or schtick makes them so hypnotic…?
avery truffleman omg she could read the phonebook and i’m in for it. love her voice
Stuff You Should Know podcast with Josh and Chuck. They do interesting talks, but their voices make me sleepy.
Also Joe Ressingtons voice from a variety of the Late Night Linux group of podcasts. Just good vocal tone, and British accent, as well as they make super clean studio audio. https://latenightlinux.com/
Sean Caroll - intonation and cadence. [subject matter awesome. must. stay. awake]
Art Bell. His voice is just buttery silk, the content is batshit crazy, and it was always a late-night show.
VaatiVidya (FromSoft game lore videos) and Voices of the Past (narration of primary historical sources) for sure.
Not really answering your exact question, but it’s a tie between Sleep Book and Go the Fuck to Sleep.
In Deep Geek on YouTube. Content on LotR, SoIaF, and other fantasy. He’s also read some stories as Audio books.

“This is 99% Invisible, I’m Roman Mars”
The narrator from Fall of Civilization is very relaxing to listen to
Yeah good call. I kinda forget he exists and then once every six months he pops up to deliver three hours of perfect storytelling
Seconded. It’s a very soothing show for being distracted enough to doze off.
Maybe this is too obvious, but I’m surprised no one has said Joe Pera yet.
JerryRigEverything, LockpickingLawyer, and Chef John from Foodwishes.com are absolute ear candy
Locklicking lawyer is such a great handle.
criminal. lawyer.
Lockpicking is not a crime!
RIP Baumiandcats
He’s still alive but stopped making my comfort content. I’ll probably get into his MTG stuff at some point but I’m still recovering from him stopping playing Dota. I watched him play Dota almost my whole life
Amazed nobody beat me to Astrum. Fantastic overviews of space missions, planetary bodies, etc. Perfect to drift off to sleep with. Unfortunately I think he’s running out of things to cover so the content machine has pushed him towards pop sci astronomy. Thoroughly recommend checking out the channel playlists though.
