I heard about a dock workers’ strike in USA where port workers complained about automation, but in China, ports are already almost completely automated, but what happened to the dock workers?

    I think it’s safe to assume that for the most part they got different jobs.

    In the US, dock workers have a strong union, and so they have comparatively good pay & benefits. But it also means that they are very anxious about losing their jobs to automation, because they’ll probably never be able to find another with comparable pay & benefits, because jobs protected by strong unions are hard to come by.
