How do I get it to not crop photos to be zoomed in rectangles when uploading? Was trying from my own instance (just made it, idk if there are settings I’m missing) since the file size limit is low everywhere. They are portrait screenshots but once uploaded are cut off at the top and bottom significantly.

    I’ve never seen Lemmy do that. It strips metadata (location, etc) but otherwise doesn’t touch the actual image.

    Are you using the default lemmy-ui website?

    Maybe it’s part of your instance image policy?

    Never experienced that behavior. Do you want to post an example image here to check if it’s really stored that way or only displayed to you like this?
