    Edit: Misinformed.

Ohhh. I thought it was just an image/PR thing, but that makes so much more sense, because there is direct financial benefit. Thanks for educating!

Still, at least the charities also benefit from it. Probably does feel easier for most people to spare a few cents while shopping, potentially avoiding small change, instead of having to actively donate a few dollars.

I have days where I am also a slave to this dreaded cycle… As others have stated: adding a bit of salt/electrolytes can help. It does for me. And apart from having to pee less, I reckon it is a good idea anyway, because drinking + peeing very much will likely have a negative effect on one’s mineral levels.

Excessive thirst/urination can be a symptom of diabetes. And I am sure there are other ailments related to it, so maybe next time you visit your doctor you might want to mention it. Hope you can get it figured out!

  • “Thanks, how are/about you?”

So, not responding and directing the attention to the person who asked. Especially useful, if the person asking isn’t even (genuinely) interested, but just asking as a form of greeting. The ones who care might either understand you don’t want to talk about it or will inquire once more.

Hmm… Now that I think about it, that is awfully close to some US American’s way of replying with the exact same question, omitting any kind of reply, concluding the greeting.

  • Sensitivity of senses can also be a symptom of migraines. Sensitivity to light or sound are more common, but it can also be the case with smell.

(Only skimmed through the links. They seem fine.)

I would assume there are many other possible physical reasons for a heightened sense of smell.

Unfortunately our bodies age and things can develop that you haven’t had before. It’s always good to question and even better to know what causes (unpleasant) things and maybe even find a cure or just means of improvement.

I don’t mean to say this is the case for you. Just some anecdotal very general thought/advice: On the other hand sometimes trying to find the exact cause can turn into a rabbit hole and at some point it might consume so much time/energy with little to no improvement, that it makes sense to accept it and make the best of it.

Hope you can find out what causes it for you and that aren’t bothered too much by it and can maybe even get some positives out of that dog type “super power” :-)
