  • All those things matter:

    • number of EVs on the roads
    • number of private chargers
    • number of public chargers
    • average range
    • average charging speed
    • average trip distance

For EVs to work you need to have adequate combination of all of them. You can’t simply say “charging speed doesn’t matter” while ignoring range, number of EVs and distance people travel. Why do people insist on focusing only one thing at a time? First it was all about range, not it’s all about charging speeds. It’s not that simple.

  • What that has to do with anything? The claim is that as population shrinks there’s higher supply so prices will fall. Japan shows that shrinking population doesn’t lead to increased supply. The way houses are build doesn’t matter. The surplus should still be there.

My guess is the same will happen in US. There will be more old, empty houses no one wants to buy and renovate (because there will be no demand for it) but new houses will stay expensive.

  • One of my favorite trivia from IMDB:

Paul Thomas Anderson first announced that his follow-up to Magnolia (1999) would be an Adam Sandler comedy at a press conference at the Cannes Film Festival. The news was greeted with laughter by the assembled press. When “Punch-Drunk Love” eventually played at Cannes, Anderson won the Best Director award and was nominated for the festivals’ top prize, the “Palme d’Or”. Months later, Sandler was nominated for a Golden Globe in the “…Musical or Comedy” category.
