  • It isn’t a con at all. It’s the result of the unbelievably arcane and complex defense acquisition rules. It’s nearly impossible to move fast and save money with smaller companies due to all the hoops they have to jump through to get on contract, so only large corporations can handle all the paperwork making anything at all cost way too much money to pay for all the overhead.

The con, if there is one, is large defense contractors convincing non-technical officers that highly technical things will be super duper hard and needs to be on a cost-plus contract to take into account any unforeseen issues. I sat in a meeting where one of those mega-corps said with a straight face that they needed a cost-plus contract to cover any losses from the additional inflation… on a one year contract.

  • And when the police actively avoid enforcing laws unless they get to hurt black males, what do you do? When it comes to stalking/harassment, the police will do nothing but ask you to fill out a form that gets put in a pile with nothing done to it. ICE will be able to do more than just warn her to stop.

Calling ICE on a person who is just living their life trying to work hard and get ahead is what racist shit stains jump to. Calling ICE on a person who is acting criminally and SHOULD have their visa revoked is a viable option.

Now, I haven’t read the texts or heard the phone calls and have no idea if this woman was stalking him or if he is a racist jackass who is sexually harassing her. Threatening to call ICE on her might have been a real shitstain thing to do. But Immigration enforcement against non-citizens actively committing crimes is what every other country in the world does. It’s not racist just because it happens in America.

  • How many human doctors are involved in the making of Old El Paso taco shells?

Now, conversely, how many veterinarians are involved in the designing and creation of one-size-fits-all food that is one-food-for-all-meals? Mars was already employing tons of vets to ensure their food would be both safe and have all the ingredients in a digestible form.

While I’m sure General Mills does employ human doctors to check for safety, they aren’t trying to create a one-food-for-all-meals solution.

  • This is nothing new or fake. There is no need to use the word “claim” like you think he is lying. I personally have a friend who spent like $50,000 or $100,000 to clone one of her dogs… twice.

I guarantee he has more money than she does (though she is ridiculously wealthy), so I have no doubts he did something that rich people have been doing for a decade.

EDIT: Yes, I know that is ESPN’s headline, not OPs.
