Fish are generally harder to relate to, especially compared to mammals. Lots of people eat anglerfish and… well to each their own but I’d say it’s not easy on the eyes.

0·1 day agoYeah, the fact it’s only mobile games surprised me a bit, especially since they don’t seem to mention it anywhere until you see the only platform filters are iOS and Android.
There are several games I have a small interest in but from companies I don’t trust much, so a review of the potential manipulation tactics in those might have been useful to me.
I don’t play mobile games though. This is unfortunately not at all exclusive to mobile.
Edit : just saw the notice about other platforms coming. Makes sense.

Merde, l’asso a été créée directement par des potes de Pétain lui-même, juste après sa mort, en 1951. Pourquoi, on se fait chier avec le terme néo-nazi, on a une belle ligne ininterrompue de 75 ans qui se la coule douce.

1·4 days agoI have done semi complex move combos with Cappy in SMO, not sure what you consider “the” tech though.
Doesn’t matter. It’s cool to pull off, but it’s not required in any way. And most importantly in the end those combos are not programmed that way, they’re a string of independent moves that are directly associated to their button.
I have no idea what is supposed to connect “get a boost” to “rapidly alternate left and right direction buttons while you drift”.

2·5 days agoThe way to make MK more skill based was to balance item distribution, which they started doing decently after MKDS.
It’s not like drifting is automatic in modern MK (well, it is in auto mode, but it’s meant for complete beginners and it sucks for anyone who knows how to play). You’re still calling all the shots regarding when to drift and for how long. It’s just less annoying to do.

2·5 days agoYou’re calling that “dumbed down”, but I’d call the old input arbitrary. I don’t see the point of hiding a major gameplay mechanic behind a complex input. You don’t use a cryptic button combo to jump in a platform game.

2·5 days agoI didn’t like MKDS very much.
I like how they got rid of the left-right bullshit on drifting after it. It’s just annoying and achieves nothing. And it’s especially bad having to do that on a d-pad.
I also think Wii is the one that really started balancing items a lot more fairly, though 7 and 8 refined it even more.
Game Freak is a third party studio. Apparently their next game is going to Xbox, PlayStation, and Windows but not the Switch.
Not the first time it happens too.
They made a seemingly simple 2D cartoon-style game called Tembo the badass elephant that could probably run on anything, and didn’t port it on either Wii U (not surprising) or 3DS (a bit more surprising).
The way they framed that was hilarious (and obviously, a lie). They said they were making the promotional art, with the title card, they added platform logos, XBox One, PS4, Steam… and it looked good like this so they decided, yeah, let’s stop there.

Games@lemmy.world•Game marketing company takes down blog post bragging about how good it is at astroturfing Reddit after Reddit finds the postEnglish
6·7 days agoPoem for your sprog, right? Not been on reddit for a while, but encountering a post from that guy was generally a fun moment.
This is 17th century. Lots of actual Roman empire buildings were impressively sturdy and at least partially subsist, but this is nowhere near as old.
Not sure where OP is from, it might seem ancient if you’re from the US, but “twice as old as the White House” is not really that old in Europe.
Turin’s royal palace is from the 17th century. The western Roman empire had collapsed more than a millenium prior to this. Do you consider the Eiffel Tower a Roman monument too? or maybe a Parisii Gaul one?
You can obviously say that the Roman empire is one influence over western European architecture. But “Roman architecture” is going to imply the style and techniques used by the ancient Romans, and this palace was not built with those.

6·9 days agoMy parent’s TV is absolutely terrible, and the source menu is a big part of it.
It doesn’t show sources that have not sent any input since the TV was turned on. So when trying to get the Switch on it, I’d need to start the console first, then push the source button… and the menu is so slow to appear that the Switch has gone back to sleep mode before I can reach it…

Obviously vertical mode must be supported by the software, but it was a cool little thing. Maybe I’ll try to find something like this for the switch 2.
