And verify my age. No thank you.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Can I become a writer when this is the quality of my writing? Please be honest.
0·12 days agoGet on Facebook and find the authors supporting authors group. Post it there and see the feedback. Make sure you make it very apparent you did not use Ai.
On the other hand, put this in ChatGPT or something and ask it for its “opinion”

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What wishes you made were granted in a "monkey's paw curls" way but in a positive direction?
0·14 days agoI wished that I could have every single video game ever made
With emulation it is possible to do that.
But you fall out of the video game hobby and you don’t find enjoyment out of playing.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Based on what you think the company you work for spends on salaries, what percentage does that company actually spend on creating value - that is, on the people who actually do the work?
18·19 days agoI used to work for a large corporation. I was on a team of 10 people. My whole job was to run three queries and copy and paste it to excel and send it off on tuesdays. I would do it on Tuesday mornings and it took me about an hour.
My teammates had similar tasks. They were in charge of one report or handout and they would automate so much it would take them about an hour to do.
One day our manager tells us we are getting a new team member because our work load is going to increase substantially.
The new person got their own report. And they messaged me once, “I am done with my report what do I do next?”
I responded, “wait until next week and do the same report”
I was at the company for ten years.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Anyone know yet how to get some of the Trumps 1.7 billion slush fund? I mean I hate fucking Trump. But I could come up with a good yarn how Biden came after me? Plus Lemmy needs new servers.
34·19 days agoA company I worked for was “awarded” several million dollars from Trump. The CEO was awarded a bonus for the same amount they got for the government.
To answer your question, if you have a million dollars, donate it to Trump. Then you can see your million dollar “investment” reap tenfold.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•The idiot mayor of Toronto extended bar hours to 4am so fans in Toronto can enjoy the World Cup no matter time the game is
0·19 days agoWe had the same thing happen in Kansas City.
Missouri State Government passed a bill which would allow bars in Kansas City, MO to stay open 23 hours a day.
But Mayor Lucas passed a city ordinance which “vetoes” the state law, prohibiting bars within the city from opening for 23 hours.
There was a bar, Blueline Hockey Bar, who went to social media blasting the mayor.
Finally, the mayor walked back his steps and passed a motion allowing bars to stay open for 23 hours.
This ordinance only allows Kansas City bars to stay open 23 hours a day throughout the World Cup games.

I thought it was going to be more of Arkham Asylum but instead it is another Lego game.
Glad they included all these Batman references from years past.

How much is too much? My wife and I smoke a joint at night 7 days a week for the past year. Is that too much?
No I have never heard him talk. He just puts questions in chat and other attendees answer them.
Our 1:1 is via chat.
Yes I’m fully remote. Never met anybody face to face
Have you tried multi color prints? Those are fun especially when you think of all the different filament that’s out there.
Video games, 3D printing, and movies/television.
Modern video games are nothing more than a linear hand holding experience with hours of pre-rendered cut scenes. If I am interested in a game, I watch a streamer play it long enough for me to be bored then I read the plot on Wikipedia.
I used to have multiple 3d printers going. But after one broke down, I didn’t have the motivation to fix it.
Movies and television shows are the same slop with tired tropes. I watched Con Air with my son the other day and he was amazed with the difference between the acting and presentation in the 1990s compared to today.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What’s the easiest way to get certified to practice law in the U.S.?
19·1 month agoBecome an LLC.
LLC’s have more rights than citizens.
You start an LLC, name it something lawyer sounding like the last names of your friends but never call it a law firm. Call it civil representation.
Then when you get a customer not a client you can send letters on their behalf.
Most people freak out when they get an official looking letter with a “law name” on it. I’m not talking about the minority of people on here, but the majority of the population.
As long as you disclose your LLC does not practice law and you are simply “representing them” in a very general and broad sense you will be good.

I married her. That’s pretty crazy to dedicate your entire life to one person. But I knew I found my soulmate for life. Been married for over 20 years now.

This was such a good series on Netflix. Too bad it takes four years to get the next set in the series.
