The frequency of the videos was always a joke, but the most recent video is a 3 month old paywalled vid of an early preview for a video still unreleased publicly. I still enjoy the videos when they’re released, so it’s not the quality, but the channel is clearly on autopilot. The one that got me was trying to make a grill scrubber made entirely in the US, failing to source all the parts domestically, being somewhat xenophobic in the process, and then having the audacity of selling the thing for $80 (or more) when the exact product exists already for half the price. At some point the whole point of the video changed from “rebuilding manufacturing in America” to “China bad”. I assume the attempt was in defense of the Trump tariffs, but the takeaway is the US is not in a position to manufacture things on a small scale, and throwing tariffs on it won’t change and people will just have to pay more to import items since they can’t be made locally.

From what I heard, they screen tested both versions of the movie, the directors version and the one edited by the trailer company, and both tested equally the same. Rather than defer to the director, they chose to take the scenes which tested the best in each version of the edit, and combine those together into the mess we saw.

I think your best bet is to disable suggesting any contacts from the system settings. The setting is called “Show contacts when sharing content” and will affect all apps. It’s not ideal, but there’s no way I can tell to ignore/dismiss specific contacts from the share menu.

FWIW with virus total, you don’t even need to upload the file, just provide the hash to see if is known to virus total. The name may be auto generated which wouldn’t help much in searching, but the hash is based on the file contents.

This is in regard to motion smoothing which is enabled by default on modern TVs, and give the effect of a soap opera look. People think that it makes the video look better, but it’s just adding fake frames to display at a higher frame rate. To make matters worse, all TV brands have their own name for this feature. This post is saying that when you go home for the holidays, this is the name of the motion smoothing in the settings to turn off for a better viewing experience the way the filmmaker intends.

The standard is called TOTP and Google became synonymous with it because they pushed it in the late 2000s for Gmail and have a large user base. Other sites did have systems beforehand, like Paypay which had a dedicated fob, but that was not widely used. Gmail was likely most people’s first experience with MFA and Google pushed their own Authenticator app (and didn’t really advertise that others could be used). As other sites got on board, it was easier to tell people to use the app they use for google to get their code, since you could assume people had the app.

Basically that made a situation where people who had a different TOTP app knew their app would work with “Google Authenticator” but for those without an app or using Google Authenticator, they were likely unaware of the interoperability and standards behind the mechanisms.

I would go into the Outlook app and clear the storage and cache and see if that helps. If you don’t want any contacts to show in the list, you can disable “Show contacts when sharing content” if you search for this in settings.
