There were multiple endings depending on the choices you make throughout the game. Same for the two DLCs.
The ‘good’ endings were in the base game she confronts the winter and succeeds, returns to Geralt as a father figure, and lives on as a witcher. Then in the Blood & Wine DLC, Geralt basically retires in his own vineyard.
They need to release a fake “Witcher 4” that’s just an older Geralt moping around his vineyard bitching about how his knees hurt. All of his quests would be things like pestering his workers about how badass he used to be, going to town to return a watermelon to the fruit vendor because of a mushy spot he didn’t notice when he purchased it, shit like that.
All the while, the townsfolk would slip idle chatter about crazy shit that Ciri’s doing off camera.
That was my belief for quite a while. There’s certainly no shortage of stupidity, but the real problem is that people do understand the evil shit they vote for, and they fucking love it.
Look at the Trump admin: he didn’t trick us into voting for him by giving some ‘on paper’ bs about why the things he does is somehow good; he just got on stage and started shitting on veterans, disabled people, women, immigrants, etc. The majority of voters looked at that and said “YUP! THAT’S MY GUY!!”
We’re (collectively) just fucking evil. Idk if there’s a fix for that.
Iirc that’s actually pretty common. Well, maybe not ‘common’ but way less rare than you’d expect - it’s one of those things that goes undiagnosed most of the time cuz people think it’s just a mole and don’t put any thought into it.
Genetically speaking, we have ‘milk lines’ similar to like dogs or some shit - the code is there for two rows of three (four?) nipples along the length of your abdomen. That code is just an inactive evolutionary artifact, but some genetic fuckup can toggle it back on.
…that said, I don’t think hormones are a factor, just genetics. Probably still don’t eat our food though; most of it’s just a wad of sugar, salt, and grease, and diabetes and high bloodpressure will cause a lot more problems than a bonus nipple.
We don’t need angry crowds - those will just be ignored as usual. We need more Luigis.
Is it a relic of slavery, or just plain 'ol slavery?
…cuz prison labor is just plain 'ol slavery.
And now we enter that awkward period where we’re supposed to show only kindness to someone who’s dying, because they’re dying, even if they’re a horrible fucking person.
Biden’s support for genocide handed the presidency to Trump, and between those two things, he’s enabled some of the greatest evil I’ve witnessed in my lifetime.
Fuck you, Biden. You made this world a worse place. The cancer in your ass doesn’t make you worthy of respect or undo the giant middle finger you gave to humanity. Your only value was that you weren’t Trump; take away that contrast and you’re just another evil sack of shit.
Star Citizen looked so fucking cool when it was announced like 15 years ago. Since then it’s dipped lower and lower every single time new info comes out.
Like, the hopeful dumbasses that got burned initially like my dumb ass did with No Man’s Sky, I kinda get… but how the absolute fuck are they still getting sales?? Are there seriously still people that don’t know it’s a scam?
Personalized gene editing isn’t new, is it? IIRC they did this successfully for sickle cell anemia or something; but it’s stupid expensive, so if you’re not crazy rich you don’t have access to this kind of healthcare.
This gem might need an update.
Cooking is just chemistry that you can eat!
Hadn’t considered browning… do all sugars have some kind of caramelization process?
Do you know if she also struggles with lactose?
I’m not sure. Initially I thought no, but that website lists it as a no-go. It’s a disaccharide made up of glucose and galactose, which should both be fine, so /shrug. I need to research CSID more - never heard of it until earlier today from the mom.
I was initially thinking something like mango sticky rice (fructose, lactose, starch?) could be a good option, but rice is listed as a no-go as well.
I should probably check with the mom before I do too much more.
The two goals are 1) delicious, and 2) she won’t puke it up. Sugar-free could definitely fit the bill; but but there is some wiggle room with CSID, so I did want to find options that let her actually enjoy some sugar, just narrowed down to things like fructose.
Not to discredit the sugar free suggestions - 100% of those will be compatible!
I know it’s hopium, but if this ends with Trump in the middle of a smouldering crater, Qatar will give the world the best gift any of us could ask for.
I don’t think there would be any way to protect from that, but you’d have the same issue with full deletion.
Until insurers decide they’re too expensive to cover.
Light em up!
On the flip side, keeping your personal online footprint small is definitely more secure.
Maybe we need a soft kill switch to disassociate content with an account after x amount of time. Like for me personally, I’ve put zero effort into mopping up old content, and as often as I post, I’m sure someone with the desire could put the pieces together and dox me.
I’ve left it up anyway cuz I don’t want to do to Lemmy what you’re concerned about, but if I could nuke all my content older than a few months into an anonymous version, I’d be all for that. Leave the info up for anyone who might benefit from it, but scrub my username.
That said, for community building sake, I’d hate to see posts go anonymous right out the gate like some 4chan shit; and posts should be associated with an account at least long enough for mods to have a reasonable amount of time to take action against an account that breaks the rules. But again, posts that are months old? The conversation there is over - my personal involvement is moot at that point, it’s just data now.
I’m probably the least tech savvy person on Lemmy. If my dumb ass can figure it out, the subset of Reddit’s population who we’d actually want in Lemmy’s community should have no problem.
That said, onboarding could have been better, and you’re right about the potential hangups: “fediverse” sounds like some kind of federal government function like a hub website that links to all the different .gov agencies, and “Lemmy” sounds like a cartoon character. Choosing an instance was more stressful than it probably should have been; ultimately went with .world by blindly following the advice of a YouTube video, but on day 1 I was pretty oblivious to the extremist shit that’s associated with instances like .ml and had no clue what ‘tankie’ even meant.
That was two years ago though - no idea of that reflects what getting started is like today.
And again, that’s all coming from a relatively tech-dumbass, so I’d imagine it’s probably smoother for people less prone to starting a fire when they their computer turns on.
