Full sprint and bounce off
It’s a redirection. Capitalism demands a lot more from us than it did even 50 years go. That makes women, on average, more choosy and men tend to need to work harder to keep up if they want that happy relationship. We’re just selecting for good capitalists because bad capitalists might have kids too, but they’re more likely to repeat mistakes of their parents or die off. It’s kinda how most people can trace their lineage to royalty, because they were the ones surviving and thriving, not the peasants.
If things get worse faster than we can address them, this trend will continue. Maintaining any kind of birthrate in a positive direction would require the people falling out of the system to support it too, which are now in the majority.
So you can’t create conditions for the family makers when the losers have voting power. The family makers will always try, but there will be fewer of them, and the capitalistic pressure only creates more losers.

Why didn’t we plan for what a lot of people knew would and up happening anyway

Is this a Fark headline?

Wherever it came from it worked. The invisible hand of capital definitely played it’s part.

These models are overtrained. It’s incredibly likely the CSAM is “baked in” there somewhere, plus it’s abstraction in tokens and whatnot. There just needs to be a way to prove it mathematically or logically. That would be a good way to pivot into other things like copyright- if you’re a capitalist or something.
If we take some of the extreme AGI claims seriously, they’re all like CSAM experts, but don’t talk about it because they’re polite. That’s weird right?

You’re right and that makes it worse as the implications settle in.

Good news for a change

They’re already laying the straw for it. I was assuming it was gonna happen.

Trump was a grass roots movement, of idiots sure, but they pulled it off while people were still mad about Obama. I’d love to see it pulled off In the other direction, and we’re all trying. However, I’m not convinced Americans are going to turn blue once we cut back on all the niceties we take for granted.
I know too many blue voters that would turn tail the moment Starbucks and Bread Co become too expensive to have almost every day. The overall amount of infantilism that’s been baked in only seems to benefit the party that promises to maintain it at any cost.

As a kid I heard people talk about how Japanese culture was being destroyed because they’re overworked, and how they didn’t really have a way out of it politically. I always thought that would be us eventually. I didn’t know how true that was until now. The only way out of this mess is through it, and people with money completely understand this.

Epstein War
I have a set of dumbells I lift everyday, in a separate room of the house from my regular activities. The endorphins are great on an okay day, they help me get by on a bad one. I meditate, in the shower. I wouldn’t find the time otherwise, now showers are ‘harder’, but clean me more now and serve as an better anchor for the day. Getting really good at my hobbies, knowing I can do the cool thing - really helps pull me back to them. That trick worked for video games too, playing everything on the hardest difficulty and forcing myself to learn instead of taking the easy route. I know I’m better off like this, but it doesn’t feel like it. I’m too scared to lose all this work, so I keep going. It’s not the best coping strat, but it’s works. I’m not thriving or anything, but I’m a little closer.

“(increase) fuel spending by $185 billion”, disincentives electric cars. It’s wrapped up like it’s a good thing, but that’s a red herring.

Don’t be a hater. This is a great thing. Paint.net is awesome for quick edits. It has a mature interface, and doesn’t come with a lot of fluff

Probably put this in a place with 0 homeless, or maybe a campsite where people would be camping anyway. People don’t talk about how deadly it can be to sleep on the ground sometimes too. There’s a percentage of “this design can indirectly contribute to a death”, in every bench like this. It shouldn’t even be a thing

Neat!
