To strengthen “corporate culture” is the excuse. But there is no Corporate Culture, there’s just people, all the way down, and they’re starting to get reeeal tired of this shit.

The “high ownership” part really enrages me.

“We expect people to “own” responsibilities for all the fatcats, but not for keepsies, silly! If your responsibility bears fruit, it’s ours to keep! If it doesn’t, we’ll be frugal and kick you out! You get nothing for your efforts, so give us more effort please! Which part is not clear to you? Doesn’t the growth of our “biggest startup” excite you?”

Is gas lightning a good term for this sort of communication?

Their foul intentions are so clear, how are we all falling for it. :(

I am getting so tired of old managerial types pretending people are more productive in the office, the very place where old managerial types make everything about office politics to get ahead instead of their competitor getting ahead and about showing off who has more power by getting the bigger screen and about calling meetings purely so people don’t notice that they are completely useless to the overall operation of the company.

I love watching the empire erode in real time.

Amazon is also flattening its corporate structure by having fewer managers in each organization.

This is just them wanting to pay people less money.
