97 years ago Bugatti was turning out supercharged sports cars… what? I just thought this was a car company that started in the 70s… The more you know.
I saw this car in the flesh 2 days ago in Hampton Court. It was up for auction for an expected 3 to 4 million pounds with a bunch of other classic cars
Amazing! How did it look in person?
Exactly like the photos in the article. It’s how I recognised it. This is the only photo I took unfortunately
I think it looks better in your shot than the stock shots on the site. Great job!
Thanks. I just remembered, I noticed that the spare wheel was cast in one piece of aluminium with the brake drum. There was a steel liner in the drum. If you get a flat tyre you change the brakes as well which I haven’t seen before.
120bhp in the 1920’s is kinda wild
Right! And to hit 100mph. A late 1800s I saw a news article that said man can’t comprehend moving faster than 20mph that’s why we need rails to move faster. Man how times changed 😂
Wait until you find out about Duesenberg. They made 400hp supercharged straight 8 monsters that cost more than a doctors annual salary back in the 20’s and 30’s. They were much faster than even race cars of the era. IMO the first relative “hypercars” if you compare what else was available.
Duck Duck Go-ing now!

Found it! Brilliant car! My car has 460hp on 285s and it takes nothing to break them lose in the first three gears. I can’t imagine 400hp on what in comparison are bicycle tires. I’d love a ride in one of these someday.
