Based on the content of the linked post and the evolution of the thread here, the mod team has decided to lock this post. There is an important difference between standing up for people who are marginalized and harassment, which this thread has been more or less equating. Please deal with this topic in a more nuanced manner going forward.
Tl;dr?
Mastodon user posts about rejected change suggestion to neutral pronouns. Many critical comments get posted on the old rejected PR (arguably harassment, certainly not productive). Someone else creates a PR to fix grammar mistakes, including pronouns, it gets merged.
It was probably just a joke.

I see. The developer once using a generic “he” on a different project and being snarky about it would be pretty low on my reasons not to use Ladybird, but I had no intentions to use it anyway, so eh.
Next to 0 of the people brigading the PRs and Issues have any interest in using SerenityOS either.
Github really needs better protections against harassing behaviors.

Arguably, the fix should be to “it” since anon is a utility account, not a user.
Kernel/Syscalls/jail.cppincludes the gender neutral “they” as well. Good on them for merging that PR.

Just took a few years and literal internet harassment. I am glad the PR creator was able to figure out a fancy way of wording things to have it merged though. Very smart, lol.
There are two ways to manage something like this. This PR creator did all the right things. A clear explanation into the rational for making those changes citing English as a second language. Not “I’m butt hurt because you used the wrong pronouns and I demand changes now!!!1!1!11one!!”.

They’re saying that the proposed gender change (in the docs) will most likely not be accepted. That’s still bullshit, but to insinuate transphobia based on this comment alone goes too far IMHO.
