        Don’t be scared.

        You’ll be making inappropriate jokes with nomenclature that is no longer acceptable and being blamed for the the ills of the world in no time, as I blamed those before me and they blamed those before them. You won’t even notice when the switch happens either. It’s painless.

        You’ll still listen to and enjoy the outrageous rebellious music of your teenage years well beyond the time you’re the one warning the younger about the perils of rebellion, excess and even defending aspects of the system you swore you’d never become a part of.

        This might come in handy too

        Life is a beautiful thing. Don’t let its fleeting nature get in the way of you enjoying it to the fullest. Look at it this way: Right now, you’re the youngest you’ll ever be ever again. If that has some white hairs here and there, who cares?

          My lady girl likes em so I’m alright with it. Just hope it comes in salt and pepper, not saaaaaaaalt and ppr.

          It is true though. I listen to my Yellowcard, Silverstein, and of course JT, religiously. I cannot understand skibidi, and I don’t want to (I’m sorry if that makes me Ohio, my Z/A friends). I’m not so young that I don’t love a good Simpson meme either. I appreciate ya.

    You’re never too young to dye.

    In fact, fuck societal norms, go crazy, try some funky colours! Do a half-length bleach to platinum blonde, add a green or turquoise strip, do frosted tips but instead of keeping them blonde, dye em copper red… The world’s your oyster.

    Or just keep the gray patches, chicks dig it.

    I got a single white streak when I was 16. I genuinely think it was due to the stress in high school. It hasn’t gotten bigger since, so fingers crossed.

      I had that in my 20s and it went away. It’s pretty shitty because it just causes more stress. But when this new batch started coming in I knew it was over.

      Maybe it’ll suit me, or maybe I’ll be on that 13or30 reddit thing.

    At least your greys are in a respectable place, mine have started coming in in my left eyebrow and so far, nowhere else. I’d love some dashing streaks of grey at my hairline or temples, no one mistakes that for lint or a cobweb.

      I got em coming in everywhere, and don’t worry I’m sure I’ll look like Jim Carrey in A Series of Unfortunate Events soon. My ears and nose hairs are out of control after a day or two.

      I’m sure you’re dashing, my man. We’re our own worst critics, and I’m no exception.

    You can’t help getting older, but you don’t have to get old. Stay in touch with younger people, and don’t be afraid to make friends with younger people (within reason - stick to 20 or older). Don’t make fun of current slang, you had yours at that age too. Learn it even if you don’t use it yourself. Don’t fall into the trap of “the only good music was my generation’s”, always look for new music to like, even if it’s individual songs instead of whole artists.

    Keep taking care of your appearance. Even if you go full gray in the future, if you make a point to look at least good, you’re ahead of a lot of people of all ages.

    And remember - gray hair isn’t an embarrassment, every single one is a testament that no one and nothing in life has been able to kill you yet. The more you have, the more it testifies that you are hard to kill. 😁
