Empire Records.
I make references from that movie all the time and nobody ever gets it. Doesn’t stop me.
I saw a YouTube video about crappy movies and they had Congo on there, I had such a visceral reaction to seeing it on that list. Congo is one of my favourite movies ever, i can recite every line of that movie, from Tim curry to Earnie Hudson to Joey pants, I will die on the hill that Congo is a great movie
I still like The Happening. I just like Shyamalans methods and style. I get why people don’t like it but it would be weird to stop having fun with something because of that.
There’s often at least one thing that I think is well done in a bad movie. It’s fun finding that thing.
Office Space all day
I will die on the hill that Kung fury is peak cinema
Any movie where the protagonist is offing nazis is a great movie.
Hackerman hacked into my heart.
I’d agree, if the movie were half as long.
Did you mean… twice as long?
I’ve literally never heard a bad word uttered about Kung Fury.
Das Millionenspiel.
It’s The Running Man except twelve years earlier and a media satire instead of an action movie. It comments on TV phenomena that wouldn’t exist in Germany until two decades later (like scripted “reality” TV). Also, it has early appearances of one of Germany’s most famous TV hosts (as the show’s host, fittingly) and one of Germany’s most famous comedians of the 70s to 90s (in a completely serious role, unfittingly). And unlike the Schwarzenegger movie it doesn’t construct a dystopian future to introduce public bloodsports but merely gives a terse reference to a “law on active recreation” dated three years after the movie first aired.
To make it even more odd, it’s actually a good movie despite being from Germany and made for TV.
I’m going to get impaled for this but The Rise of Skywalker. It’s my guilty pleasure.
I’m so sorry for you
Star Wars: The Last Jedi for me. I don’t remember details, but I remember liking it and thinking it was nice to bring original things to the saga (especially because episode VII was almost a tribute to episode IV). Then fans complained and they reverted a lot of themes and things 💔.
upvote for actually understanding the prompt and naming a shitty movie.
lmfao
My dad pulled me out of school just to wait in line for Phantom Menace tickets. I thought the prequels, while enjoyable, were the last time I would be disappointed by Star Wars.
I was so fucking wrong holy shit.
The Adventures of Baron Munchausen and/or Time Bandits.
There’s a movie called Unstoppable (2010) with Denzel Washington, Chris Pine and Rosario Dawson. It’s about a runaway train causing trouble in Pennsylvania.
I’ve watched it no less than 30 times.
It’s not like I’m into trains or anything. I just think it’s a really good movie and every single actor in it is giving 100%.
RV with Robin Williams came out at a good age for me, I was like 12 so poop jokes and mean spirited jokes that the movie is full of clicked with me.
Once Bitten, Joe vs the Volcano, and Mortal Kombat are all way better movies than they should have been.
Treasure Planet. There’s weird plot choices, but I loved the mixed animation, the music, the characters.
An actually bad but amazing movie would be Miami Connection. Karate rock band sings about friendship fights motorcycle drug ninjas. Fuck yeah bro.
Suburban commando starring early 90s Hulk Hogan, best enjoyed on the original VHS .
“Who Framed Roger Rabbit”.
An absolute masterpiece in terms of blending and transitioning between live action and animation; plus the whole Disney/Warner Bros character crossovers… just 👌🏼
George of the Jungle!
