3000 miles ought to be enough charge for anybody.

I have come to realize there is no regulation of “press releases” and there is no longer any measurable downside for lying.

Therefore I will save my amazement for when they actually deliver a working, purchasable product.

3000 miles based on batteries of comparable size and weight to current batteries. A more likely outcome is smaller batteries with a range of 500-1000 miles in top test conditions and 400-600 real world mileage. Reduced battery weight would be an overall benefit, especially with double the current range.

But I doubt this will reach the market anytime soon, if it works out at all.

    • I signed a lease for an EV in 2022 because I thought that the big battery revolution was happening any moment now and I didn’t want to sit on a piece of garbage that no one would buy from me

Now I will buy my next EV when the lease ends because I believe that big battery revolution will take atleast another 5 years…

First of all why only mention EV’s? Surely if batteries are potentially going to be increased by that much capacity they will benefit many other people with huge potential for massive benefits to mankind, like medical provision, global warming by increasing storage of natural energy, providing power to remote places, etc, etc. Second, I expect a big backlash from oil companies who seem to be trying to push hydrogen vehicles at the moment to keep people reliant on them. Cars with a range of 3000 miles would kill that and their companies. In fact it would have the potential to massively impact the world as we know, including a massive impact on the oil states. This is far from just a piece of news that impacts only EV’s.
